Dear Friends,

Maison Parer was built from a combination of astonishment at how little informed we are on women's health and the daily effects of hormonal fluctuations; exasperation at the fashion industry's lack of consideration for real women's needs; and hope that a solution wasn't as impossible as its non-existence made it out to be.

 

When I started building Maison Parer, I found purpose in having identified a clear need in the women's clothing market that was both desired and possible: adaptable workwear.

 

We have all subconsciously accepted that when it comes to garments, professional clothing is rarely, if ever, synonymous with comfort. Our sense of perceived competency and authority stems, in part, from the stiffer structure of this niche's "appropriate" style. But what, in the strict designs, is the actual cause of our discomfort? Their rigidity. Unlike these clothes, women's bodies aren't static. They fluctuate daily.

We size up. We adjust. We tolerate. And we adapt ourselves.

But we should not be the ones who adapt.

 

These discomforts are not the inevitabilities we believe them to be. They are simply not considerations in the industry.

​

Designing beautiful clothing is exciting.

​

But designing clothing that makes someone feel seen, understood, comfortable, and beautiful in their own body is meaningful in an entirely different way.

 

I continually strive to do work that enables me to make people feel included, welcomed, and valued. And I know that through thoughtful design, considered material choices, and open dialogue, many of these daily sensitivities can be addressed.

 

Maison Parer was created with a clear intention: to design thoughtfully produced clothing that respects both the planet and the bodies it is made to clothe.

 

Pieces that acknowledge fluctuation.

Pieces that support rather than restrict.

Pieces that allow you to feel at ease, feel at home, and feel confident.
